Addressing the "New" Urban Question
It is now common fact that small U.S. cities are in decline. The flight of jobs, industries, human and financial capital outside of once active cities like Syracuse and Detroit is a phenomenon that has only recently become seriously addressed in public discourse within the last decade. Rather than continuing the narrative of small cities losing out to the mega-cities like Los Angeles and New York, we see a latent opportunity for an urban renaissance in these 'shrinking cities' that has social and economic value. |
